I know Who holds my future!

Kimberly Gross (student, age 20)

I had a great childhood...parents that loved me and cared about me a lot, a little sister who was (and is) tons of fun, and lots of other family around to love me. We went to church every Sunday and Wednesday nights, too.

My parents loved Jesus and made sure we loved Him too, and I became a Christian When I was five years old.

Later on, as I grew up a little, I began to feel pretty empty and that Jesus was real far away. He never left me, but I was not learning to be close to Him in anyway. One day I realized that I wanted Jesus to be my friend, and I began to talk to Him and read stories about Him from the Bible. It was great! I began to feel like Jesus was not so far away from me, and that He could handle any of my problems.

Today I still struggle sometimes feeling like Jesus is far away, but every day I'm learning more about how much He loves me and wants to take care of me. Having Jesus as my Savior gives me great joy becuase I know that the same person who created the universe loves me and takes care of me every day! I am learning that He is so much wiser than me and that His way and His timing are always best. I may not know what the future holds...but I do know Who holds my future, and that is enough to give me the energy to get up every morning and live a life full of joy and peace, even in the midst of it's hardest times.

Life is not always easy, even with Jesus in it, but He is bigger than my biggest problems, and He always loves me through them.
