I was very fortunate to be raised in a home in which I had two parents who dearly loved me and brought me to church on a weekly basis. However, despite the fact that I was blessed to have a good family life I have still had to endure many struggles throughout my life.
God has taught me that only true joy only comes from knowing him and having an intimate relationship with him. I have come to realize that no matter how hard a person tries to be ""good enough"" or find joy that this quest for happiness is a lost cause without God as the cornerstone of a person's life.
True joy and completeness is only found in knowing Jesus. I am by no means perfect and I struggle with things on a daily basis, but God is growing me and teaching me knew things everyday. Like everyone else, I have tried to find happiness in success, friends, playing sports, having a girlfriend, etc. However, through this process I realize that these efforts are all in vain because only God can give a person the sense of belonging and love that everyone desires.
