I wanted to play my friend's Atari 2600 so bad that I ran into my house and took some money.

Jody Wysor (student, age 27)

I attended church every week of my life. My mom took me there literally every Sunday since the day I was born. However, I never really caught on to what church was all about until I was five years old.

One Sunday, my pastor was preaching about Heaven and Hell. He said that anyone who had committted one sin and did not accept Christ was going to go to Hell.

Well, I knew that I had committed at least one sin becuase a couple of weeks earlier I had lied to my mom. I wanted to play my friend's Atari 2600 so bad that I ran into my house and took some money. When later questioned about it by my parents, I simply lied.

That day at church I left feeling ""weird"" inside. I spent all day thinking about what the pastor had said. That night when I was in the bath tub, it all came together. I knew I was a sinner. I knew I wanted to go to Heaven. I knew God loved me.

So I called as loud as I could for my mom to come into the bathroom. She ran full speed (probably thinking that I had drowned.) She asked me what was the matter. I told her that I wanted to become a Christian.

Then, my mom asked me a good question. Since I was so young, she simply asked how I knew that I wanted to be a Christian. I told her probably the most profound thing that I have ever said in my entire life. I answered that I knew I wanted to be a Christian because Jesus had told me in my heart that was what I was supposed to.

The same is true today. Whether five or fifty-five, if Jesus is calling you, then you only need to respond. You may not know all of the answers, but it is enough just to know that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ can take care of that sin problem!
