I was raised in a small, community church, surrounded by family, not to mention my father was a deacon and my mother was a sunday school teacher. I can't remember NOT knowing about Jesus. I could answer all the questions, quote all the verses, and tell most of the stories by memory. I might could've taught the class myself except for the fact that I was unbearably shy.
But, when I was 6, God decided to change me forever. One night at church I felt strange feeling in my heart, and later at home, I asked my mom to lead me in prayer, asking Jesus in my heart. There was no flash of lightening, nor was I immediatly a whole new person, but over the course of a few years God changed my personalily completely.
I was no longer the little girl that hid in the corner, or refused to look at the camera for a picture. In the last couple of years I have suffered from lonliness and depression as well as adapting to a totally new environment. God, in his infinate wisdom, has turned my life upside down, and it no longer resembles what I thought my life would be. I am now at college, moved away from home. In those times that I could not walk, God has carried me. Holding my hand and leading me down the path only he could design, he teaches me everyday about the incredible man I learned about so long ago named Jesus. I love you with everything I am, Lord, and my thanksgiving will never amount to all you deserve.
