I'm a college sophomore. I want to tell you about the only way to experience true love and life to the fullest.
Growing up in the South, I attended church every week like most of my friends. I knew right from wrong and was a good little girl. I knew all about the Bible and said my prayers every day. I thought that made me a Christian, but I was wrong.
One night during revival services at our church, the preacher spoke to all the kids. He told us that the Bible said we were all sinners -had done wrong in the eyes of God-(Ropmans 3:23) and that because of that sin we deserved death (Romans 6:23). But then he told us the good part. He told us that because God LOVED us so much, he sent his ONLY son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die as payment for our sins(John 3:16) and that Jesus rose from the grave three days later.
All I had to do was belive that Jesus had died for my sins and rose again and commit my life to him. It didn't matter how many ""good"" things I did. Being a ""good"" person wouldn't get me to heaven. Now, I had lots of questions, but after speaking to my parents and pastor, I prayed and asked Jesus to come into my heart and be my lord, to take control of my life.
That was the best decision I have ever made. Now I'm not saying that I don't sin anymore. I just know that my sin is forgiven and that I have a God who LOVES me no matter what. Jesus had made all the difference in my life. He will never turn his back on me. Instead, He is always there to guide me and give me HOPE. He gives me JOY and PEACE in the middle of my circumstances. I couldn't make it a day without Him.
He loves you, too. Jesus died and rose again for you, too. All you have to do is admit to Him that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died and rose again for your sins, and commit your life to him. Give Him control of your life. Accept his love.
Jesus says, ""I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father [God] except through me."" -John 14:6.
